"With Jim, you never know what you are going to get. Red carpet, black tie, bohemian chic--it all works for him. His sense of style never fails to impress in an incredibly understated and underwhelming way."
--Coco Chanel
"Oftentimes, when coaching in a big game, I would think to myself, 'Who can the fellas really take inspiration from? Which athlete is in the most peak physical condition?' The answer is as clear as the nose on my football-loving face--good ol Jim. Number 77 in the program; number one in your hearts."
--Knute Rockne
"Drivers don't often like curves--certainly not the same way that sailors appreciated curves in the mid-40s. But as far as I know Jim has always walked the straight and narrow. He's a standup fella, that Jim. "
--Tony Robbins
This is just folklore but we have no reason to doubt it.
--Committee To Approve Jim As A National Treasure
Jim is a native of Illinois. Not Chicago, the part with all the corn and soybeans. He fell in love with comedy at an early age, he laughed way too hard at cartoons, The Carol Burnett Show, SNL and SCTV, and his life was set on its course by seeing This Is Spinal Tap. While living in Chicago, he devoted his time to theatre and improv, taking classes at Second City, IO, and The Annoyance Theatre. In Los Angeles, he continued improvising and added standup comedy to his resume. Oh yeah, he’s done some TV, too. You can see him in Weeds, The Wizards of Waverly Place, The Thundermans, Black Monday with Regina Hall, Ryan Murphy productions HOLLYWOOD and Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, and most recently, The Conners, with Laurie Metcalf.
